DETAILED ITINERARY

 DAY 1   KUALA LUMPUR TO MUNICH

Check in for your flight to Munich.  Upon arrival in Munich in the afternoon on same day of departure date, you will collect your rental car and drive approximately 3 hours to Schaffhausen, Switzerland – located at the border of Germany and Switzerland.  You will spend 1.5 hour at Rhein fall before proceeding to the hotel in the evening. Rheinfall is a waterfall located in Switzerland and the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

DAY 2   VISIT TO ISELTWALD & LAUTERBRUNNEN

You will begin the day by visiting Lucerne – well known for its stunning medieval architecture and its stunning location on the edge of Lake Lucerne amid snow-capped mountains. The famous landmark is the medieval Chapel Bridge and is considered to be one of the oldest, covered wooden bridges in Europe. You can purchase the famous swiss knife here in Lucerne.

After Lucerne, you will visit Iseltwald,  a fairy tale village surrounded by the Swiss Alps – located on the southern shore of Lake Brienz in the Bernese Oberland region.  Iseltwald is famous for locals and tourists where people gather at a pier, not to catch a boat but to take a picture of where their favourite Korean drama was filmed.  The romantic drama Crash Landing On You is filmed in the Interlaken region of Switzerland, with the famous piano scene was filmed in Iseltwald.

Located not far from Iseltwald is the Giessbachfälle – one of the most famous waterfalls of Switzerland. The waterfall plunges down 400 meter over 14 stages. There’s a footbridge near the waterfalls where you can see the water coming from above and going down.  At the bottom part of the Giessbach Falls is the historic Grandhotel Giessbach. You can see the waterfalls above and the lake below from the hotel.

In the afternoon, you will to proceed to Lauterbrunnen, where it will be your stay for the next 3 nights.  The village of Lauterbrunnen is surrounded by waterfalls and you will spend few hours by visiting some of the famous waterfalls.  Later in the evening, you will first visit Murren by taking a gondola up to the mountain resort.  Murren is a lovely small town on the edge of Lauterbrunnen valley. Optional excursion includes a visit to Schilthorn where you will take the cable car from Murren to Birg and the Schilthorn – famous for the 1969 Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

DAY 3   VISIT OF GRINDERWALD FIRST AND SURROUNDING AREAS

The village of Grindelwald is among the Alpine beauties of Switzerland, located closed to Lauterbrunnen with its southern end covered by the three high mountains of Wetterhorn, Mettenberg, and Eiger.  Grindelwald may be one of Switzerland’s most popular ski resort but there are plenty of things that make Grindelwald the ultimate summer destination. The place has become a favourite because it offers many activities such as ziplines, scooters, and cart rides down the mountain. The mountain also has a hiking-friendly terrain, making it quite popular among hikers.

You might also want to try the First Cliff Walk when you reach the First Mountain. This thrilling experience involves walking through a specially built metal walkway and suspension bridge built around the cliff of the First Mountain.

DAY 4   OESCHENENSEE & BLAUSEE

Drive approximately 2 hours to the town of Kandersteg, 45km to the west of Interlaken, to visit all two major attractions around the area: Lake Oeschinen and Blausee.   Lake Oeschinen or Oeschenensee is a Unesco World Heritage Site and considered by many to be the most beautiful mountain lake in the Alps within the Bernese Oberland. This mountain lake is famous for its bright blue water and impressive mountain peaks.  Oeschinen is located high on the mountain and not accessible by car. You have to leave your car in Kandersteg and take a gondola. From the gondola top station, you can walk to the lake in 20-30 minutes. Located close to Oeschinen is Lake Blausee. This is a breath-taking clear lake with mountain view. Walk inside the forest-you will see a scenic view where you can relax and enjoy nature at its best.

DAY 5   ISELTWALD AND LUCERNE

You will drive back to Germany via a scenic mountain road with breathtaking view.  The next morning you will  make a stop at Neuschwanstein castle – one of the most-visited tourist destinations in Europe. Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle was inspired by Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein as was Cinderella’s Castle.

DAY 6  MUNICH

You will spend the whole day exploring Munich and other surrounding areas including shopping at the famous shopping places in Munich.

DAY 7: RETURN FLIGHT HOME & ARRIVE KUL

Next day in the morning you will proceed to Munich airport for flight home on the next day.
