DAY 2 OSLO – TRONDHEIM (via train)
Start our journey to Norway’s beautiful fjords by taking a high-speed train from Oslo to Trondheim, the 7-hour scenic Scandinavian landscapes journey crossing 497 kilometers.
DAY 3 TRONDHEIM – KRISTIANSUND (via The Atlantic Road)
Start your trip in the early morning to the famous Atlantic Ocean Road, often described as one of the world´s most beautiful roads. The Atlantic Road is a unique stretch of road which takes you right out to the ocean’s edge. It connects Averøy with the mainland via a series of small islands and islets spanned by a total of eight bridges. With its location at the edge of the mighty ocean, the Atlantic Road is as beautiful in sunshine and calm weather as in full storm and rain.
The crown jewel of the Atlantic Road is the iconic Storseisundet bridge. Frequently referred to as ‘the road to nowhere,’ this cantilever bridge is the longest of the eight bridges on the route, measuring 260 meters.
Its unusual design creates an optical illusion when approached from a particular angle, appearing as though the road ends abruptly, dropping into the sea.
DAY 4 KRISTIANSUND – TROLLSTIGEN (via Andalsnes)
The Trollstigen road – also known as Route 63 – runs right through some of the most stunning scenery in Norway. Between the winding road, there are valleys, roaring waterfalls, placid fjords and picturesque villages.
The 11 hairpin bends of the road are to drive, the thousands of motorists and cyclists are really coming to enjoy the view. The Trollstigen winds its way up the side of the Valldalen – a stunning valley with a dramatic waterfall by the road. This same motorway also contains a steep, twisting section nicknamed “The Eagle Road” close to Geiranger village.
DAY 5 TROLLSTIGEN – GEIRANGER
The Geirangerfjord – a beautiful fjord located south of the coastal town of Alesund. The fjord heads southwards inland, with the fjord village of Geiranger in the far end of the fjord. Some of the fjord’s most-visited attractions are its impressive falls, namely Seven Sisters, the Suitor and the Bridal Veil.
There are marvellous view points in Geiranger area, like the Dalsnibba road and the Eagle Road. The trip across the Golden route mountain roads between Geiranger and Andalsnes fjord village offers stunning views, as well as the breathtaking Trollstigen hairpin road.
