GRAND TOUR OF ITALY

DETAILED ITINERARY 

DAY 1

Kuala Lumpur / Milan

Check in for your flight to Milan.  

DAY 2

Milan

Upon arrival in Milan, transfer to your hotel. Check in accordingly and spend the rest of the day in Milan.  The city is particularly known for its abundance of high-end fashion retailers and the beautiful Duomo Cathedral. All the main attractions and famous buildings are all dotted close to the city centre.  We will have a brief city tour of Milan, which highlights includes the Gothic Duomo, Glass-domed Galleria, La Scala Opera House and spend the rest of time in the bustling centre around the Gothic Duomo.

DAY 3

Milan – Venice 

We will start our journey to the city of Venice, known also as the “City of Canals,” “The Floating City.  Venice is arguably one of Italy’s most picturesque cities. With its winding canals, striking architecture, and beautiful bridges, One of the famous places to see in Venice is Doge’s Palace, an immensely beautiful and gorgeous palace, located on the bank of the Grand Canal.  We will pass through San Marco, the city’s most famous neighborhood and home to its heavy-hitter attractions. Saint Mark’s Square with the adjacent St. Mark’s Basilica or a tour with the authentic gondolas.

DAY 4

Venice – Florence

We will drive from Venice to Florence with couple of stops. Florence is a city of delights, and walking its streets is the best way to get a sense of its pleasures.  We will explore Michaelangelo Square and the famous Statue of David where you will have a breathtaking and the most beautiful scenic view of this ancient city. Later, we will have a walking tour covering the Duomo and the “gate of Paradise”, Ponte Vecchio, Uffici Museum, Pizza Signoria and Piazza Santa Croce. Enjoy panoramic views of Florence from the top of Piazzale Michelangelo.

The art galleries and museums of Florence are renowned throughout the world and holidaymakers flock to admire the superb David of Michelangelo, the Venus of Botticelli and the stunning Duomo with its marble façade which glows in the golden sunlight.  Florence is a good place to shop for artisan crafts, luxurious fashions, shoes, leather, jewellery, and perfume.

DAY 4

Florence to Rome

The drive from Florence to Rome is a straightforward three-hour ride on the A1, but the beautiful countryside of Italy’s most famous regions of Tuscany and Lazio offer breathtaking views of green fields, vineyards, and plenty of wonderful rivers and valleys.

DAY 5

Rome

We will begin the Roman adventure at Colosseum, the most iconic structure of Roman architecture. Then, stroll through the ruins at the Roman Forum and reimagine the markets and public sites from the Roman Empire. Afterwards, do as the Romans do and spend your afternoon at the Piazza Navona. Finally, cap off your trip at the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.

DAY 6

Rome to Sorento

We will continue southward towards city of Sorrento. A convenient detour we could make is Pompeii,  a bustling seaside city that was buried underneath 13-20 ft of ash and volcanic debris after the 79 CE eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The ash, which killed many of the city’s residents, acted as an archaeological time capsule by preserving many of the city’s original buildings and features completely intact. 

DAY 7

Almafi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is home to 13 cities and towns, scattered like jewels along the 55-kilometer.  The Amalfi Coast is a breathtaking destination, known for its stunning coastal scenery, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and charming coastal towns make it a perfect getaway. For awe-inspiring vistas, we will make a few stops for the world-renowned viewpoints in Positano and Amalfi.

DAY 8

Sorento – Siena 

We will drive back to Rome with a night stop at the city of Siena. Siena is one of the most beautiful and rich in history cities of Tuscany.  You will love the ancient Piazza del Campo, with its Gothic town hall and the Torre del Mangia. Not to mention the splendid cathedral, and the historic center made up of characteristic alleys. Art lovers will find museums and churches full of medieval and Renaissance art.

DAY 9

Pisa – Cinque Terre

Today we will travel through picturesque scenery in Umbria and Tuscany before arriving in the town of Pisa.  We will spend some time in city of Pisa, famous for its UNESCO-listed Leaning Tower.  The legendary Leaning Tower of Pisa, built in 1173 as a bell tower for the Duomo.   The adjacent Duomo and Baptistery are among the other important architectural heritage of the city.  As optional activity, experience the thrill of climbing the 294 steps of the spiral staircase of the Leaning Tower, rising slowly above Pisa’s vast Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracles Square).

We will then proceed to La Spezia where we will spend the half day visiting the beautiful Cinque Terre seaside villages, consisting of five villages strung along a rugged 18km coastline in the Liguria region. From La Spezia, we enter this heritage area by train to visit two of its most beautiful villages; Vernazza & Manarola. Immerse yourself into the charming atmosphere of these remote Italian seaside villages.  The beauty of the rugged cliffs and romantic fishing villages once inspired poet Lord Byron.

DAY 10

Serravale Designer Outlet – Lake Como

We will make our way to Lake Como with a few hour stop at Serravale Designer Outlet 

DAY 11

Lake Como

Lake Como is famous for several reasons, including its stunning natural beauty, charming lakeside villages, and historic villas. Lake Como has long been a favourite destination for celebrities, musicians, and other prominent figures. We will take a scenic cruise on Lake Como to admire the beautiful lakeside villas and gardens with visit to town of Bellagio and Varenna. Bellagio might be the most iconic destination on Lake Como. The picturesque village is home to scenic cobbled lanes and stairways lined with charming boutiques, gelato shops, cafes and restaurants.

DAY 12

Milan – Kul 

Depart to Kul with memorable memories of some of Italy’s best city sights.
